We rocked and swayed

As Zeppelin played

Kashmir

Me in my Skynyrd hat

You with your Mini skirt, boots

And beer

Carly said that "You're'so vain

So you turned the volume up again

The chemical rush

My pounding head

Someone plays the Grateful dead

Dylan whinges for a while

Steve Harley invites me up to smile

I see the "Spirit in the sky

I don't know where and don't care why

The colours fading into one

The Beatles sing "Here comes the sun"

Pink Floyd and The dark side of the moon

The riffs the spliffs the spinning room

The conversation fast and slurred –

I can't catch a single word

You smile and take me by the hand

And lead me to the promised land

The yellow sky looks very nice

The golden hue of paradise

I wake just as the music dies

Mc Clean has finished the American pies

Finally time to go

Standing staggering moving slow

A mirror catches me by surprise –

Gaunt white face with tequila eyes

I try to listen to what you say

I get it – wow !!!
